Quartercycle

Privacy Policy

Last updated 24 August 2026

The short version. This site is one page and an email address. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and has no sign-up form. We do not know you visited. If you write to us, we keep your email so we can reply, and nothing else happens to it.

This policy covers quartercycle.com only, as it exists today: a pre-release page for MaxWax, a product that is not finished and is not for sale. When MaxWax ships, a fuller policy will replace this one and will cover purchases, licences, downloads and what the software does on your own computer. None of that applies yet, so none of it is described here.

1. Visiting this page

No cookies. No analytics. No tracking pixels. No third-party scripts. The page loads its own text, one image and one font file from this domain and makes no other requests.

The site is served by Cloudflare, which like any web host processes the technical details of the connection, including your IP address, to deliver the page and to protect the service from abuse. We do not receive per-visitor reports from it and we do not build any profile of you.

2. If you email us

Writing to hello@quartercycle.com means we hold your email address and whatever you chose to put in the message. We use it to reply to you and, if you told us about your setup, to inform what we build. That is the whole purpose.

We will not add you to a mailing list from this. There is no mailing list. If we ever start one, joining it will be a thing you deliberately do, not a consequence of having emailed us.

Our mail is hosted by Microsoft (Exchange Online), so your message is stored on their infrastructure.

3. Legal basis, if you are in the UK or EU

We rely on legitimate interests: replying to someone who deliberately contacted us, and keeping the website online and secure. There is no marketing use and no automated decision-making.

4. How long we keep it

Correspondence is kept while it is useful and reviewed periodically. Ask us to delete your email and we will, unless we are legally required to keep it, which for a message about turntables we will not be.

5. Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it. Write to hello@quartercycle.com and we will action it. There is no charge and you do not need to give a reason.

If you are in the UK or EU and you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority. We would rather you told us first so we can fix it.

6. Where your data is held

We are based in the United States, and our email provider stores messages on infrastructure that may be located there. If you write to us from the UK or EU, your message crosses that border.

7. Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

8. Changes

If this changes we will update the date at the top. The substantive rewrite will come when MaxWax is actually for sale, and it will be a different and much longer document, because at that point we will actually be doing things with data.
